The MAC A Novel Romance Lipglasses: A Novel Way To View Fall Lip Color
Winter is coming… Looking at the Lipglasses in MAC's new A Novel Romance collection, I tin can nearly feel the socks on my anxiety (toe oppression!), the leopard-print true cat lady gloves on my hands, the chill in the air and the extra 10 pounds of holiday chocolate in my belly. These colors sure don't seem like typical fall colors.
No wines, reds or berries here. Instead, they remind me of colors we'd see in an early winter drove released after the holidays.
Yep, every bit in January.
Perhaps MAC is playing with the notion of novel and looking at information technology as something other than a book. Like something new, a new style to call up about fall lip colors.
These five new limited edition Lipglasses ($fifteen U.S., $eighteen CDN each) have the same super sticky texture, vanilla flavor and olfactory property, and 3-5 hour article of clothing time I've come to expect from MAC Lipglasses.
Three of the five are different takes on pale lavender, but don't be scared! Surprisingly, they're very flattering and wearable. They well-nigh office equally nude neutrals, and all three should look great with any of the drove's three quads, particularly when worn with intense smokey centre looks.
I accept to admit, though, that none of the lighter lavander shades, with the exception of sparkly purple Reckless Desire (ooh, glitter!) are triggering that aching flutter in my loins…
About the other two shades (the ones that aren't lavender)…
- Bared For You: I don't really feel like this shimmery rose gold is memorable on its own, but I love information technology on superlative of creamy nude biscuit lipsticks, where it adds that extra something-something to nude lips.
- Talk Sexy: A deep imperial with aureate glitter and fine golden pearl, Talk Sexy should look amazing on darker skin tones…although a darker lip liner (I'm thinking Nightmoth) may be necessary to corral the edges in place.
While none of these colors exit me feeling lusty, I like that MAC took such a radical direction. For fall lip colors, these seem different to me, and as a grouping, they're like the motherlode for cooler-toned ladies/gents.
Crazy flattering.
That said, don't let that keep you lot away from them if you take a warm skin tone. If you get a chance, try a couple of them on for fun. You lot only might observe yourself lovin' on lavander. 🙂
The 5 A Novel Romance Lipglasses begin kissing lips later this month (August 14 online at maccosmetics.com, August 21 – October 2 in stores, and internationally this September).
